I am Assistant Professor at the Department of Medicine and Surgery at University of Milano Bicocca (Milano, Italy). I was born in 1984 and received Master Degree in Medical Biotechnology
from University of Milano Bicocca, in 2008, with an experimental thesis on the characterization of bortezomib-induced peripheral neurotoxicity.
In December 2011 I received Ph.D. in Neuroscience at University of Milano Bicocca with an
experimental thesis on evaluation of analgesic effect of CR4056 in an animal model of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. I also spent a research period in 2014 as Postdoc at Centre on Pain Study, School of Nursing, University of Maryland, Baltimore (MD) (Prof. S.G. Dorsey and Prof C. Renn group); and in 2016 as Post-Doc at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA (Prof. E. Feldman).
My main research interests are in the field of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neurotoxicity (CIPN) evaluated in animal models following the treatment with antineoplastic drugs and to test neuroprotective strategies, as well as on the mechanistic studies using neuronal cultures. For my research activities I have been awarded with several national and international prizes. I am the author of 36 papers, 1 book chapter and 1 application of international patents. I also contributed with several communications to international conferences. I serve as Reviewer for about 10 international journals and I have served as Young Editor for Frontiers in Pain Research.
